Day 1: Bagdogra → Mirik → Darjeeling
📍 Approx. 70 km | 3 hrs via Mirik
Your Tripjyada representative meets you at Bagdogra Airport or NJP Railway Station and the journey to the Queen of the Hills begins — but with a beautiful detour. The route via Mirik winds through cardamom gardens, orange orchards, and dense forest before arriving at the charming Mirik Lake — a peaceful high-altitude lake surrounded by gardens where pedal boats drift on calm water. Browse the lively Pashupati Market at the Nepal border for local spices, handicrafts, and great bargains. Then continue upward into Darjeeling — arriving with the mountains already in your blood and the tea gardens already in your eyes.

Kanchenjunga in shades of gold and amber — one of the most breathtaking natural spectacles in all of India. The day continues beautifully from there. Visit the ancient Ghoom Monastery, walk the famous Batasia Loop spiral railway with its sweeping mountain panorama, and explore the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute where India’s greatest climbers trained. Afternoon at the Padmaja Naidu Zoological Park — home to the rare Snow Leopard and Red Panda. End the day at the serene Japanese Peace Pagoda and a slow walk through Darjeeling’s tea estates — the source of the world’s most celebrated cup.
