Overview

Some places you visit once and forget. The Andaman Islands are not one of them.

There is something about the Andamans that ruins every other beach destination for you. The water here is not blue — it is every shade of blue simultaneously, shifting from pale turquoise in the shallows to deep sapphire where the coral drops away. The sand is not just white — it is powdery soft and cool underfoot even at noon. And the silence underwater, when you slip below the surface for the first time with a mask and snorkel on and a coral reef exploding with colour beneath you — that is something no Instagram reel, however well-shot, will ever fully prepare you for.

This 6-Night Andaman Island Adventure covers the very best of what this extraordinary archipelago has to offer — and it does so without rushing you. Over seven unhurried days, you will move through Port Blair, Havelock Island, and Neil Island, experiencing three completely different island personalities at a pace that lets each one settle into your memory properly.

It begins in Port Blair, the capital of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands and the gateway to everything that follows. Your first evening here carries an unexpected emotional weight — a visit to the Cellular Jail, where India’s most courageous freedom fighters were imprisoned by the British colonial administration. The walls of this jail hold stories of sacrifice, courage, and an unbreakable hunger for independence. The Light and Sound Show that follows brings those stories to life in a way that leaves most visitors genuinely moved. It is the kind of moment that reminds you that the most powerful travel experiences are not always the most beautiful — sometimes they are simply the most human.

Day two takes you out to Ross Island — once the administrative headquarters of the British in the Andamans, now a place where nature has quietly reclaimed everything. Roots have split walls. Trees grow through old ballrooms. Deer wander the ruins of what was once a colonial social hub. It is hauntingly beautiful and strangely peaceful. From Ross Island, you cross to North Bay Island — also known as Coral Island — where the adventure begins in earnest. Scuba diving, snorkelling, parasailing, a glass-bottom boat ride over living coral gardens — this is where the Andamans show you what they are truly made of.

Then comes Havelock Island, and nothing quite prepares you for it even if you’ve seen a hundred photos. Radhanagar Beach — rated among the finest beaches in Asia — stretches for nearly three kilometres of near-perfect white sand, backed by dense tropical forest and facing water so clear you can see the bottom in six feet of depth. It is the kind of beach that makes you sit down, take your shoes off, and suddenly have absolutely no desire to be anywhere else on earth. The next morning, Elephanta Beach delivers a more adventurous chapter — snorkelling directly over coral, jet ski rides, sea walks, and the kind of saltwater-drenched, sun-warmed afternoon that becomes the story you tell for the next three years.

The final island stop is Neil Island — smaller, quieter, and utterly charming. This is where the Andamans slow down. The Laxmanpur Beach sunset is one of the most beautiful in the entire island chain, the Natural Bridge coral formation at low tide is genuinely spectacular, and the general atmosphere of Neil Island — unhurried, unspoiled, and generously welcoming — is the perfect final note before the journey home begins.

Seven days. Three islands. One trip that will make every future beach holiday feel like it’s missing something.

Tour Highlights

🏛️ Cellular Jail & Light and Sound Show — India’s Most Powerful Evening This is not just a tourist stop — it is a deeply moving experience. The Cellular Jail in Port Blair held some of India’s most important freedom fighters in solitary confinement. Walking its corridors and then watching the evening Light and Sound Show, which brings the history to life through narration and light, is the kind of travel moment that stays with you long after the tan has faded.

🏝️ Ross Island — Where Nature Reclaimed History The former British administrative hub of the Andamans now lies in beautiful ruin — old buildings split by banyan roots, deer wandering through overgrown courtyards, the sea visible through broken windows. It is ghostly, gorgeous, and completely unlike anything else on the itinerary.

🤿 North Bay Island — The Andaman’s Water Sports Capital Scuba diving, snorkelling, parasailing, glass-bottom boat rides, coral safari — North Bay Island packs more thrilling activities into a single day than most destinations offer in a week. This is where families, couples, and solo travellers all find their version of Andaman joy.

🌊 Radhanagar Beach — Asia’s Most Beautiful Beach Blue Flag certified and consistently ranked among Asia’s top beaches, Radhanagar is the kind of place that makes you genuinely reconsider your life choices — specifically, why you don’t visit more often. Three kilometres of perfect sand, warm shallow water, and a backdrop of dense tropical forest. Come for a swim. Stay until sunset.

🐠 Elephanta Beach — Snorkel Above Living Coral The coral at Elephanta Beach is alive, colourful, and teeming with tropical fish — and you don’t need to be a certified diver to experience it. A mask and snorkel is all it takes. Add a jet ski, a banana boat ride, or a sea walk for the full experience.

🌅 Neil Island — The Andaman’s Best-Kept Secret Quieter, slower, and deeply beautiful, Neil Island offers the Andaman experience without the crowds. The sunset at Laxmanpur Beach is the stuff of screensavers. The Natural Bridge coral formation at low tide is genuinely unlike anything you’ll find elsewhere in India.
