Gurudongmar Lake sits at 17,100 ft — which makes it one of the highest points accessible by road in India. Most healthy adults visit without any serious issues, but altitude sickness is a real possibility, especially for travellers coming from sea-level cities without a night or two to acclimatise first. We recommend spending a night in Lachen before the drive up, staying hydrated, and telling your guide immediately if you feel unwell.

Yes — all permits required for this itinerary are arranged by Tripjyada as part of your package. The key permits include the Sikkim Inner Line Permit (ILP), the Restricted Area Permit (RAP) for North Sikkim covering Lachen and Lachung, and the Protected Area Permit (PAP) needed for Gurudongmar Lake. You'll just need to share your ID documents and passport-size photos in advance.

For the most part, yes — this tour is designed to be comfortable and accessible. Gangtok, Lachung, Pelling, and Darjeeling are all very family-friendly and well-suited for travellers of all ages. The Pelling Skywalk involves some walking but is not physically demanding, and the North Sikkim leg to Gurudongmar is the only stretch we'd flag for very young children or travellers with heart or breathing conditions, given the altitude.
