Lachung Yumthang from Gangtok: 4 Nights 5 Days This Lachung Yumthang tour package is a 4 night 5 day trip for travellers who want the snow villages and high meadows of North Sikkim in under a week. You spend two nights in Lachung, a quiet mountain village at about 9,600 ft, with a full day for Yumthang Valley. The trip starts and ends in Gangtok, with pickup from NJP Railway Station or Bagdogra Airport. Stays are in 3-star hotels with breakfast and dinner every day. A private Innova or Xylo covers every transfer and sightseeing sector, so you do not have to arrange permits or cars yourself. Rates are valid for Indian nationals only. Why Choose This Lachung Yumthang Tour Package Most short North Sikkim trips spend one night in Lachung and rush back. This plan gives you two. The first night follows the long drive north, and the second sits around your Yumthang day, so you are not racing the clock. It also suits families and mixed groups. There is no trek, and the route avoids the very high, cold stretch to Gurudongmar. Read more about the wider region in our guide to places to visit in North Sikkim.
Your driver meets you at NJP or Bagdogra and takes you uphill to Gangtok, at about 1,750 m. Check in, rest and enjoy a free evening. Overnight in Gangtok.
It separates the long drive from the Yumthang day, so you are not rushing both in a single stretch.
No. It covers Lachung and Yumthang only. Gurudongmar is on the Lachen side and needs a longer package.
About 130 km, roughly 9 hours with stops. Road diversions can slow the journey, so start on time.
No. It is optional at extra cost per vehicle, and is often closed in heavy snow or bad weather.
Usually yes, but Lachung and Yumthang sit above 9,000 ft, and altitude can cause headaches. Check with a doctor if you have heart or breathing problems.
March to May and October to November have the clearest views. December to February brings snow but also closures, and July to September has landslide risk.
